The defenders of Cove and its interests, the guardians of the town and the merciless enforcers of the Codex. The Militia works closely with the Wardens of Law, or rather are directed by them, and is the only way for a simple peasant to ever reach higher social status. Serving in the Militia is not a full-time job for a peasant. People enlisted in the guards work in shifts and are free to spent their time as they wish when they are off duty.
Guards wearing their uniform may not stand idle. A guard must either patrol, protect certain town area or be engaged in other militaristic activity. Guards who do not have specific orders and wish to relax must return their uniform to Cove's Armory and change to their civilian clothes.
Out of character concept:
- All guards are from Cove
- They are all peasants and their behaviour should reflect that (read more in the Peasantry section). A guard's attitude and character could evolve with obtaining higher ranks, which means higher pay.
- If a guard is wearing his uniform, he is supposed to be doing some kind of Militia duty, whether given to him by an officer or thought up by himself spontaniously. If a person wishes to rather socialise, he must return his uniform to the Armory. The Bank is considered to be the Armory. Once a guard wishes to put his uniform there, he must enter into the building, go near the chests and say something like *places his uniform in one of the chests* etc. and change into civilian clothes. The player cannot carry his uniform in his backpack and must place it into his bank box. Once the guards are called on duty, they are to run to the armory and get their uniforms from there.

Besides, its better than plowing the fields, right?
