Tradeport of Cove: History

he village of Cove is nestled amongst the craggy mountains south of Lock Lake, and is known for its cleanliness all across Britannia. From Cove you can find the best farmed goods as most of the Covites work on the fields. Because of mountains there is also limited mining around the town, although areas near orcs are usually too dangerous for miners. After the passage to Trammel facet was created, many of the villagers moved there to follow Lord British. Unfortunately the orcs were able to secure strong foothold on Trammel as well, making South of Cove a dangerous place. This is partly why the Cove healers are among the best of the land, and also because some of them have been under the guidance of Jaana, grand druid. Despite the dire times Cove has held its spirit. While city of Britain is the town of Compassion, Cove has been characterised as the town of Passion. Whether this is because of the idyllic country side, beauty of Lock Lake or because of something else, is up to the travellers themselves decide.

Lock Lake is known to be a pure, clean lake and a rich fishing location. Across the lake, North from Cove a traveller will find the Bloody Marsh, the site where one of Britannia's most savage battles had taken place on Felucca side, on Trammel it is named the same to honour the fallen. North-East of Cove main gates travellers can find a newer settlement, Tradeport of Cove.

Tradeport of Cove is a new settlement outside the crowded walls of Cove. It is an area built upon the needs of Britannia's growing population and the sense of business by the local merchants. The area is still rather small, but it is well prepared. Tradeport Tavern hosts knife throwing games and gives thirsty travellers a drink, in exchange for a few coins. The law is also enforced at Cove as the Militia keeps order and makes sure that the area remains peaceful.

Videric Gaveston has been the leader of Tradeport/Trade Caravan since its birth at Deepwater many years ago. Now as the lord of Tradeport, he considers himself only responsible to his father, Conrad, who is the Duke of Cove.

Cove has always been loudly loyal to Lord British and his court, although some misguided souls seem to question if it is truly the case, especially at Tradeport. However there has never been any evidence to support these rumours.

After Gavestones left Cove to pursuit other business, Killian, the former sheriff of Cove was appointed by Videric Gaveston as the next rightful leader. Soon after the Regent approved title of Baron of Cove to Killian.
