Title I. Corcerning Selling and Trade.
1. No resident is to stockpile grain from market day to market day, but let it be sold to the people in response to market demand, upon pain of confiscation of the grain and imprisonment.
2. No butcher, whether townsman or country-dweller, may sell corrupt or unsuitable meat in the market, upon pain of confiscation and imprisonment.
3. Fishermen bringing fish by cart or by boat to sell [in town] must bring them into open market and sell them by their own hand; the fish is not to be concealed but laid out for sale openly, as is ancient custom in Cove, so that no huckster or forestaller can interfere, upon pain of confiscation and imprisonment.
4. No hosteler or owner of a hostelry within Cove shall hide, conceal or disguise fish in his inn, but lay it out for sale in the market and sell according to market price, to the benefit of the people, upon pain of confiscation and imprisonment.
5.Milkwives are to sell good milk and cream that is sweet [not sour], in the form that it comes out of the cow -- not combined or thickened with flour, nor diluted with water, to the deceit of the people, upon pain of confiscation and imprisonment. And they are to sell good, sweet butter, freshly made.
6. Foreign merchants are to obtain a monthly trading license, costing 200 gold coins, before selling their goods in Cove, upon pain of confiscation of goods and a fine of 250 gold coins.
7. Dealing in nightshade and poison without a special permit is forbidden, upon confiscation of said items and/or imprisonment.
8. Trading, selling and keeping of stolen goods is forbidden, upon pain 500 gold coins fine or imprisonment.
Title II. Concerning Resource Gathering.
1. Anyone fishing with nets in the town ditch, without licence from the Village Officials, shall be jailed or fined 100 gold and their nets, baskets and other equipment shall be confiscated. Anyone who informs on such offenders shall have one-third of the money from the fine.
Title III. Concerning towns Domestic Affairs.
1. Henceforth no-one shall allow his animals to wander in, or go along, the streets or buildings, unless building or part of it used as a stable. If an animal is found wandering, its owner shall pay 50 gold. (And may be distrained by the Authorities for the said fine).
2. Every man shall repair broken pavement adjacent to his house; if any fails to do so, the Justice Officials may assign workmen to the task and distrain [on the defaulting householder] for their wages.
3. Every man is responsible for keeping the area in front of his house clean of dung or other filth, upon pain of 50 gold fine.
4.No resident of the town shall take on as a servant any man or woman until first ensuring that the servant has faithfully completed his/her term with the previous master.
Title IV. Concerning Insults.
1. If anyone speaks ill of Coves Authorities because of the tax assessed on them or other reasons, or arranges for anything to happen whereby they are harmed or obstructed, he shall be jailed or pay twice as much tax that year.
Title V. Concerning Disturbace of Peace.
1.If anyone goes about armed in peace-time, unless at command of request/approval of the local authority, he is to be disarmed. In case of resistance, he is to be put in prison until he finds surety for making amends for his disturbance of the peace.
Title VI. Corcerning Assault and Robbery.
1. If anyone wounds another so that blood is drawn, he is to be put in prison until the Authorities review the case.
2.If anyone beats or hurts another to the extent that the latter's life is endangered, the assailant is to be put in prison until it is determined whether the victim recovers or dies. A punishment will be given by the Authorities acorrding to the fate of the victim.
3. Attempters of thievery shall be put in jail until they are given punishment by the Sheriff. Upon sucessful thievery, the thief will be jailed for a period of time decided by the Authorities and fined twice the cost of items he stole.
Title VII. Concerning Frauds and Deceits.
1. Whenever it can be shown hereafter that any person, by fraud or deceit, falsely pretends or claims the ownership of any goods or merchandize, he who makes the false statement shall forfeit 150 gold for each fault proved without reasonable doubt.
2. Altering ones appearance or looks in any way is forbidden. Ones caught doing so shall pay a fine of 150 gold or be placed under arrest.
Title VIII. Concerning Records.
1. Each and every judgement made by the Authorities shall be enrolled in the records.
Title IX. Concerning Magery.
1. Use of any Spells other than the transportaion ones without a proper license is forbidden within the limits of Cove, upon pain of confiscation of reagents and imprisonment.
2. Bringing summoned creatures or monsters within town limits shall result in a fine of 50 gold upon the law-breaker and a possible confiscation of reagents.
3. Necromancy is strickly forbidden. Any people found practising this dark art are to be immidiatly arrested until a punishment is given by the authorities.
Title X. Concerning Burnings.
1. Firestarters shall be fined thrice the worth of items damaged and jailed for a period of time set by the Authorities.
Title XI. Concerning Treason.
1. Conspirators, actively working against the Authorities of Cove by words or deeds, shall be jailed, marked and fined or banished from the town of Cove.
2. Conspirators, actively working against the Rulers of Britannia by words or deed, shall be
transfered to the courts of city of Britain.
Title XII. Concerning the Course of Justice.
1. People found guilty of trying to influence the course of justice by bribery, threats or other actions, shall be fined and/or jailed.
2. If an exact size of a fine or exact lengh of imprisonment isnt mentioned in the Laws, it is up the Authorities to decide it, depending on the circumstances of the crime.
Title XIII. Concerning Abominations.
1. Any abominations (such as undead) found wandering Cove are to be arrested and executed.
