The Sixth Caravan

"Geetings", said Videric to the guards, who already were waiting the caravan, when he entered the Tavern of Spiritwood. Videric sat down as well to wait for the people to arrive. While waiting he had a conversation with the Deepwater guards about what he was transporting this time.

Gathering at Spiritwood tavern.

Guards of the caravan (remember there was also a lot of other people with)
Because of the spreading rumour that the orcs would most likely attack this caravan, there was more guards than ever. Needless to say Videric was pleased of this. The guards were divided to three main force. Deepwater Guards were lead by their captain Viking, who arrived at the last minute, Yew militia was lead by corporal Amos and Spiritwood guards were lead by Pad O'Lion. Of course there was also few volunteers who did not belong to any military. This time caravan had hired scouts as well, and they were lead by most experienced ranger named Palando.
Seer Aymer was also seen to pass by, but unfortunately Videric did not have much time to talk to him, as he was busy organising the caravan. What Videric heard was comforting, as even the seer suspected that the orcs would not dare to attack this time. When Videric later asked about the seer from Dardan Brook and Bronco, they told him that Aymer was unfortunately unable to join this time.

As usual the caravan left a bit behind in schedule, but more prepared that ever before!

The word about the caravan had certainly spread! On road between Spiritwood and Crossroads of Britain there must have been at least ten brigands ambushing the caravan. Luckily they had no change against the guards, also much credit goes to scouts, who managed to take care of the worst ambushes before they reached the caravan.

Orc Ambush!

Dardan advises Videric to stay
with his bodyguards
But despite the number of guards the orcs ambushed the caravan near Yew. Maybe it was only a test, but it showed how Frabagor was determined once again to raid the caravan, Videric cursed that name once again. It seemed that Severed Head orcs were also in this plot, as at the same time as the attack took place South from Videric, the Severed Head orcs blocked the road from North. Vile plan indeed! Luckily Videric was able to run inside a small guardpost but he felt in his bones that loosing his cargo was once again close.
After the Southern attack fell the orcs in the North were forced to retreat from the road because they were badly outnumbered.

The Caravan quickly gathered it's forces and headed towards Yew like the wind, as waiting would only give orc's time to regroup. However there was not much more peace at Yew Militia. A lone orc ran from bushes to the square and told he was Weston, a farmer that had gone missing a week ago, in human voice. However at very same moment the orc horde that most likely had been following Weston attacked from the woods. A chaos followed as everyone was take by surprise.

As the battle finally ended the sad truth was seen, someone had slain the orc who said to be Weston. It was a sad moment that stopped everyone to think how evil Frabagor was to do such a trick, and how blindly weapons were raised against any orcish form. Also a brief appearance of a strange spirit, after Weston's death made the atmosphere very confused.

The corpse of Weston was later buried at Yew cemetery, hopefully his spirit gets united with his lost family and finds peace.

A cry to safe Weston

Pure Chaos

Finally after many hours of journey the caravan reached Deepwater. Videric felt sad of what had happened but on other hand he felt proud that the caravan had once again reached it's destination. He smiled briefly at the town cryer who was letting everyone know that the caravan had arrived!
